Resumo:One of the major drawbacks of whitening technique for patients has been the dietary restrictions regarding the food dyes. Coffee, black tea, red wine, soft drinks cola and chocolate drinks are beverages with high enamel pigmentation potential during and after tooth whitening. It has been reported from in vitro studies that the teeth exposed to a dye solution during the bleaching result in a less stable bleaching effect. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of coffee intake frequency in the color of teeth during bleaching with hydrogen peroxide at 35% and quantify color changes through the Easyshade spectrophotometer during tooth whitening sessions at different frequencies intake coffee, giving subsidies for a correct diagnosis and planning which had determined a better prognosis.
