Resumo:CAD/CAM systems are today an important ally to the Dentist and the Prosthodontics Technician in the manufacture of ceramic crowns with greater accuracy and efficiency. With the passing of the years this equipment has been obtaining an increasing adhesion on the part of the Dental professionals. The Purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of different CAD/CAM systems on the occlusal and interproximal contacts accuracy of ceramic unit crowns. This is a comparative In Vitro study involving 2 groups of 10 crowns of lithium disilicate manufactured from 2 types of scanning, the CEREC BlueCam system and CEREC Apollo DI system. Evaluations of occlusal and interproximal were performed by a previously single trained examiner. For the occlusal contacts accuracy, CEREC BlueCam system presented 90% of the crowns manufactured in lithium disilicate according to the parameter considered “clinically excellent” compared to 30% of the crowns manufactured from CEREC Apollo DI system for the same parameter. Standing this second system with 70% of its manufactured crowns according to the parameter considered “clinically good” to the occlusal contacts accuracy. Concerning the interproximal contacts accuracy there were no significant differences, with CEREC BlueCam system presenting 100% of the manufactured crowns according to the parameter considered “clinically excellent” compared to 80% of the crowns manufactured by CEREC Apollo DI system for the same parameter. Within the limitations of the study, it can be concluded that, for the aspects of occlusal contacts accuracy and interproximal contacts accuracy, CEREC BlueCam system was superior than CEREC Apollo DI system.
