Resumo:The tackiness presented by resins brings inconveniences to the incremental technique, which can be improved by using lubricants in handling. However, it is still unknown the effect caused on the properties of the resins. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect caused by the lubricants applied to the surface in the properties of the resin. The parameters analyzed were: 1) composite resins: Filtek® Z350XT (XT), Empress® Direct (ED) and Esthet X HD® (HD), A2 colors and for whitened teeth; and 2) lubricants: Adper™ Single Bond 2 (SB), Adper™ Scotchbond™ MultiPurpose (MP). The resins were polymerized in single increment for 20s. No lubricant were used in the control groups (CT). 180 samples were prepared (n = 10) and evaluated for: degree of conversion by FTIR, color stability and translucency after 24 hours and 30 days with spectrophotometer Easy shade. The data were statistically analyzed by ANOVA with Tukey's test (p <0.05). There was no statistical difference between the composites (p <0.05) among lubricants (p <0.05) and interaction resins vs lubricants (p <0.05). The lubricant MP reduced the degree of conversion of all the composites, although increasing the color change only for the HD resin A2 color. And the ED and HD resins for whitened teeth showed greater translucency after 30 days. It is concluded that the use of adhesives as lubricants in composite restorations can affect the surface properties of this material.
