Resumo:The HDA (Hydroalkylation of toluene) process is one of the most important processes in the petrochemical industry used for the production of benzene. The HAD method is based on the reaction of toluene in the presence of hydrogen gas to form a simpler aromatic hydrocarbon, in this case, benzene, generating the biphenyl such as a sub product. The fact that benzene presents a high purity grade allows the economic viability of the process, although its is a really complex process. The objective of this study is to simulate and to optimize a hydrodealkylation facility inside the software ProSim Plus. The main challenges of this work were to determine a good initial approach that allowed the initialization of the problem with coherent data, as well as the domain of the software to apply the necessary modifications with respect to optimization. Among the optimizations carried out can be cited the total production profit during one year, the influence of numerical parameters and resolution strategies "Unfeasible Path" and "Feasible Path".
