In this way, it was evaluated by means of a research in the Federation of industries in the state of Rio Grande do Norte (FIERN) and direct contact with the industries (by e-mail), the number of employees, the type and size of the industries involved in chemical engineering, seeking to know where they are located and if there are internship programs or if chemical engineering are employed. This work also brings the law of internship and complementary laws. It was observed that of the 274 industrial registrations obtained of FIERN’s industrial record website for the Zona Leste Potiguar, of the 179 process industries contacted, only 8 responded to the survey and only one have an internship program for chemical engineering. Thus, it is concluded that a great effort is needed to extend the insertion of the chemical engineering internship in the industries of Rio Grande do Norte A concepção deste trabalho teve início com a necessidade de se conhecer um pouco como se distribui as indústrias no norte rio-grandense, avaliando-o como um mercado potencial para os estudantes do Curso de Engenharia Química da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. Dessa forma, foi avaliado por meio de pesquisa junto à Federação das Indústrias do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte (FIERN) e contato direto com as empresas (via e-mail), o número de funcionários, o tipo e o porte das indústrias que atuam na área da Engenharia Química, buscando se conhecer onde se localizam e se apresentam programa de estágio ou se empregam Engenheiros Químicos. Este trabalho traz também a lei de estágio e leis complementares. Foi observado que dos 274 cadastros industriais obtidos no site de registros industriais da FIERN para a zona leste potiguar, dos 179 indústrias de processos contatadas, apenas 8 responderam a pesquisa e apenas uma possui programa de estágio para Engenheiros Químicos.
