Resumo:Objective: To identify the risk of Common Mental Disorder in the Elderly with Noncommunicable Chronic Diseases. Method: Cross - sectional, exploratory, descriptive exploratory study of a quantitative approach, developed at APS in the city of São Vicente - RN, which evaluated 99 elderly people. Data were collected between September and October of 2018 through an interview at the elderly's home. The discussion of the data occurred according to the scientific literature. Results: It was identified that 28.28% of the elderly presented a high risk for CMD; there was no significant association of this risk with socioeconomic characteristics and CNCD. Discussion: It is worrying that many respondents presented high scores on the SRQ-20, which could lead to impaired quality of life. Conclusion: Some of the population is in psychological distress and at risk of worsening of their condition, reaffirming the importance of developing strategies to detect these cases in PHC.
