| Resumo: | The objective of this study was to elaborate a narrative review of the literature regarding the first stage of the construction of a protocol of care and treatment for pressure injuries. This is a descriptive study of the methodological type for content construction. It was decided to make a narrative review of the literature on the care and treatments for pressure injury. The selection of the articles occurred in the period from 2017 to November 2018 in the Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), Scientific Eletronic Library Online (ScieLO), as well as research in Google Academic®, books, book chapters, and institutional protocols that dealt with the subject in question were also consulted. The review was built on six topics: Wound: concept; wound classification; healing process; Pressure Injury; Coverings; general considerations about pressure injury coverages. The proposal of this protocol, based on the reality expressed and mirrored in nursing care, will contribute substantially to a safe, quality, integral care that truly meets the health needs of patients, individually and collectively. Such a resource, when implemented effectively, can lead to uniform and continuous care. |
