The aim of the study was to identify, through scientific knowledge, the use of assistive technologies aimed at the elderly. This is a review of the literature in the framework of the integrative review in studies of Assistive Technologies for the Elderly. The databases consulted were Scielo, Lilacs and Pubmed. Through the search strategies, 1,154 articles were identified in PUBMED, in SCIELO and LILACS an article was found in each. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, there were 12 articles that composed the corpus of this review. The articles analyzed provided information on the type of study, approach, population and data collection instruments. Regarding the collection techniques, focus groups (performed in six of these productions) and data analysis procedures, two adopted the method of comparative analysis, one used content analysis, three cited another type of analysis. Articles that mentioned more than one data collection technique generally made combinations of interview and focus group and interview and observation. It was concluded that the devices of assistive technology are of great use for the elderly, since they will contribute to the increase of their functional capacity, autonomy and consequently contribute to the improvement in their quality of life. O estudo teve como objetivo identificar, por meio do conhecimento cientifico, o uso de tecnologias assistivas voltadas à pessoa idosa. Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura nos moldes da revisão integrativa em estudos da temática das Tecnologias Assistivas para Idosos. As bases de dados consultadas foram Scielo, Lilacs e Pubmed. Através das estratégias de busca, foram identificados ao todo 1.154 artigos no PUBMED, já no SCIELO e LILACS foram encontrados um artigo em cada. Depois de aplicados os critérios de inclusão e exclusão, restaram 12 artigos que compuseram o corpus desta revisão. Os artigos analisados traziam informações quanto ao tipo de estudo, abordagem, população e instrumentos de coleta de dados. No tocante as técnicas de coleta destacam-se os grupos focais (realizados em seis destas produções) e quanto aos procedimentos de análise de dados, dois adotaram o método de análise comparativa, um usou a análise conteúdo, três citaram outro tipo de análise. Os artigos que mencionavam mais de uma técnica de coleta de dados, em geral fizeram combinações de entrevista e grupo focal e entrevista e observação.
