METHODS: This is a descriptive, exploratory, transversal research with a quantitative approach, with 469 SAMU service records. A collection of data available in the months of July and August 2017. RESULTS: This year 56.9% (267) of the visits were performed by an advanced support unit. The month of November registered the highest number of occurrences, 80 (17.1%). The morning shift predominated, 30.8% (138), and the day of the week was Wednesday 67 (15%). Most of the records were clinical care (57.57%), in men (57.6%), in the age group between 60 and 79 years 20.3% (95). 56.42% of the SAMU registries showed the existence of patients with previous diseases, the majority of the visits had as final destination the secondary level 56.7% (258). CONCLUSION: This present was the main method of care, which is the majority of clinic appointments, with elderly patients, male patients and who have cormobities. Financiamento próprio OBJETIVO: Analisar o perfil das ocorrências de atendimentos do SAMU no ano de 2016, na cidade de Currais Novos/RN. MÉTODOS: Esta é uma pesquisa do tipo descritiva, exploratória, transversal com uma abordagem quantitativa, com 469 fichas de atendimento do SAMU. A coleta dos dados ocorreu nos meses de julho e agosto de 2017. RESULTADOS: Neste ano foram realizados 56,9% (267) dos atendimentos por uma unidade de suporte avançado. O mês de novembro foi o que registrou o maior número de ocorrências, 80 (17,1%). O turno da manhã predominou, 30,8% (138), e o dia da semana foi a quarta-feira 67 (15%). A maior parte dos registros foi de atendimento clínicos (57,57%), em homens (57,6%), na faixa etária entre 60 a 79 anos 20,3% (95). 56,42% dos registros realizados pelo SAMU evidenciaram a existência de pacientes com doenças prévias, a maioria dos atendimentos tive como destino final o nível secundário 56,7% (258).
