The collection was performed from September to October 2017, and data were analyzed by descriptive statistics. Results: There were a total of 306 (44.35%) correct answers, 197 (28.55%) partially correct answers and 187 (27.10%) incorrect or unanswered questions. Conclusions: There is a gap in the knowledge of nursing undergraduates. It is necessary to think of mechanisms to strengthen teaching and nursing in this area. Objetivos: analisar o conhecimento teórico dos estudantes do 7° e do 9° período do curso de enfermagem da Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde do Trairi sobre Reanimação Cardiopulmonar, segundo o protocolo da American Heart Association. Métodos: Pesquisa exploratória descritiva com abordagem quantitativa. Participaram 46 alunos. A coleta foi realizada de setembro a outubro de 2017, sendo os dados analisados pela estatística descritiva. Resultados: Houve um total de 306 (44,35%) respostas corretas, 197 (28,55%) respostas parcialmente corretas e 187 (27,10%) questões incorretas ou sem resposta. Conclusões: Existe uma lacuna no conhecimento dos graduandos em enfermagem.
