Resumo:The obtainment of pillared clays with mixed pillars of Al/Cu and Al/Zn was studied using a montmorillonite clay named Bofe. The clay was pillarized with different solutions containing Al, Al/Cu and Al/Zn. The pillar solutions were prepared in the proportions of 5% and 10% Cu or Zn solution to the pillar solution. The results of X-ray diffraction analysis and N2 adsorption show that the materials were pillarized and present an increase of specific area and micropore volumes. The efficiency of incorporation of copper and zinc in the material was evaluated by AMR (Active Metal Ratio) and 27Al NMR analysis. The 27Al NMR results pointed out the formation of mixed pillars due to the decreased between the intensities of AlVI/AlIV signals.
