Resumo:This work seeks to show the relevance that Professional Master's Degrees have today in the area of Chemistry Teaching, which is revealed by the recognition provided to teachers in practice in the various formative spaces for reflection and application of knowledge. It arises in the context of the project “Contributions for Professional Master's Degrees at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) Starting From Its Productions and Accompaniments of Graduates”, whose general objective is to carry out studies of description, analysis and evaluation of the academic production of the Professional Master's Degrees and accompaniment of the graduates of these programs. In this context, the present work aims to rescue a little of the history of the Graduate Program in Chemistry Rede Nacional (PROFQUI), from its formation at the UFRN center, and to identify some characteristics of the dissertations produced by the first group of graduates of PROFQUI-UFRN, as well as the impact of this program in the lives of these graduates. The data obtained in this research were based mainly on Document Analysis and Content Analysis. The seven dissertations and the seven educational products produced by the first PROFQUI-UFRN class were analyzed, as well as in the seven questionnaires answered by these graduates. The characterization sheets of the dissertations were completed according to adaptations made from the descriptors of the Center for Documentation in Science Teaching (CEDOC). In general, the set of results indicates a positive contribution from PROFQUI-UFRN in the pedagogical practice of the graduates.
