Resumo: | The present work consists of an analysis of the illustrations by artist Pauline Baynes, found on the covers of the seven books of the Chronicles of Narnia. The aim was to analyze more deeply than just seeing the chosen illustrations. For this, the work was based on a research about the written content on which the illustration was based, on the illustrator's artistic path, as well as based on the visual elements proposed by Dondis (1997) in order to extract more subtle aspects of the work. The analysis of Pauline Baynes's illustrations becomes relevant in order to contribute to the reality of the richness of content that a deeper look at an image can generate. |
