The idea around the witches and the demonic is due to the Catholic Church, spread in the imaginary of the time for greater control of people (ECO, 2007, p. 185). Many artists have portrayed witches throughout the history of art, as well as their sabbaths, their relationships with the occult and the devil, however, the visual proposal will be to show that the notion of ugliness goes beyond aesthetic concepts, but is also attached to the notions of morality of the individual who defines it, as well as its religion, culture and epoch. References are sought in Eco, Rosenkranz, among others. Este Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso consiste em uma análise sobre o conceito de feiura nas artes visuais, focando no feio em torno da imagem das bruxas nas pinturas e na série Los Caprichos – publicado em 1799 – de Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes. A ideia em torno das bruxas e do demoníaco deve-se a Igreja Católica, difundida no imaginário da época para maior controle do povo (ECO, 2007, p. 185). Vários artistas retrataram bruxas ao longo da história da arte, bem como seus sabbaths, suas relações com o oculto e com o diabo, porém, a proposta visual será mostrar que a noção de feio vai além de conceitos estéticos, mas está atrelada às noções de moral do indivíduo que a define, bem como sua religião, cultura e época.
