description This study has as its central theme the Entrepreneurship in the area of Library science. We sought to analyze the possibilities of entrepreneurial practices for the librarian. Therefore, we sought to characterize the terms entrepreneurship and undertake, identifying the librarian's fields, competencies and skills, as well as their entrepreneurial practices from the specialized literature. It is, therefore, an exploratory bibliographical research, of a quantitative and qualitative nature, in which searches were carried out covering the period from 2015 to 2020 on the following platforms: Brazilian Digital Database of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), Information Science Database (BRAPCI), CAPES/MEC Periodicals Portal and Digital Monograph Library of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (BDM/UFRN), using the following search expressions in Brazilian Portuguese language: entrepreneur librarian, library science, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship in library science. In this search, 27 (twenty-seven) articles and 3 (three) graduation monographs were retrieved, in which the greatest productions are present in the theme "professional training of the librarian" and the main author on the subject is teacher Daniela Fernanda Assis de Oliveira Spudeit, from the undergraduate course in Library Science and the Graduate Program in Information Management at the University of the State of Santa Catarina (UDESC). It is concluded that there is still a need for more discussion, as well as the occupation of librarians in entrepreneurship and the overcoming of many challenges. It is noticeable in the presentation of scientific papers that this is an area that requires innovation and personal commitment from the professional. As it is a very competitive area, many people think that entrepreneurship is just being the owner of their own business, this thought is just the tip of the iceberg, the librarian needs to be prepared to also escape the obvious and see the countless possibilities that entrepreneurship has to offer and it starts in the classroom.

Este estudo tem como tema central o Empreendedorismo na área de Biblioteconomia. Buscou-se analisar as possibilidades de práticas empreendedoras para o bibliotecário. Para tanto, se buscou caracterizar os termos empreendedorismo e empreender, identificou-se os campos, competências e habilidades do bibliotecário, bem como suas práticas empreendedoras a partir da literatura especializada. Trata-se, portanto, de uma pesquisa exploratória bibliográfica, de caráter quantitativo e qualitativo, no qual foram realizadas buscas que compreenderam o período de 2015 a 2020 nas seguintes plataformas: Base Digital Brasileiro de Teses e Dissertações (BDTD), Base de Dados em Ciência da Informação (BRAPCI), Portal de Periódicos CAPES/MEC e Biblioteca Digital de Monografia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (BDM/UFRN), utilizando as seguintes expressões de busca em idioma Português do Brasil: bibliotecário empreendedor, biblioteconomia, empreendedorismo e empreendedorismo na biblioteconomia. Nessa busca foi recuperado 27 (vinte e sete) artigos e 3 (três) monografias de graduação, em que as maiores produções estão presentes na temática “formação profissional do bibliotecário” e a principal autora no assunto é a professora Daniela Fernanda Assis de Oliveira Spudeit, do curso de graduação em Biblioteconomia e do Programa de Pós-Graduação de Gestão da Informação da Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina (UDESC). Conclui-se que ainda há a necessidade de mais discussão, bem como da ocupação de bibliotecários no empreendedorismo e a superação de muitos desafios. É perceptível na apresentação dos trabalhos científicos que se trata de uma área que requer do profissional inovação e comprometimento pessoal.
