Resumo:This study aimed to investigate the relationship between marital status (single person who lives alone and married couple who lives together) and dietary and health. A cross-sectional character is defined based on the household-based epidemiological population survey, the Pesquisa Nacional de Saúde 2019. A total of 12063 cases were analyzed based on the PNS 2019, divided by marital status and sex, the outcome analyzed was the protective character of the marital status and the health behavior variables and dietary behaviors. The prevalences were esteemed based on the marital status, their 95% confidence intervals and univariate analyzes were performed, the final model was adjusted for age by multiple logistic regression, where variables with statistical significance <0.05 remained. Of the 12063 cases analyzed, 61.2% were married and 38.4% were single. Singles were more likely to have alcohol consumption (95%CI=1.366-1.610), smoking (95%CI=2.080-2.816) and poor health perception (CI=1.100-1.365), and lower chances of being overweight (95%CI= 0.602-0.708), being sedentary (95%CI=0.806-0.952) as well as male singles eating less sweets (95%CI=0.746-0.981) and females having more insomnia (95%CI=1.093-1.405) . It is concluded that there are protective factors for both marital conditions, with married people being protected from smoking and alcohol consumption, which are aggravating factors for cardiovascular diseases, and single people protected from overweight.
