We use the existing readings and productions on the object of study to develop our data collection, which in turn interpreted allows us new discoveries and reflections on the subject. Based on the exposition (the authors), we had a greater resource and base for the accomplishment of the work. In order to show that it is necessary to understand Democratic Management, as a form of management needed in public schools, and that its practices and mechanisms of effectiveness need to be perceived by the school body as forms of foundation and subsidies for collective decision making in school . It is noticed that the school managers need to be knowledgeable of this breadth that is the Democratic Management, always seeking new knowledge, and looking for continued formations, for a better performance of them. Significant is that schools are able to put into practice Democratic Management, thus enabling a more democratic and quality teaching. Nosso trabalho constitui-se em investigar a Gestão Democrática fazendo uma revisão bibliográfica da temática e discutir sua importância para o cenário educacional atual. Utilizamos as leituras e produções já existentes sobre o objeto de estudo para desenvolver nossa coleta de dados, que por sua vez interpretados possibilita-nos novas descobertas e reflexões sobre a temática. Embasados no que expõem LÜCK (2013), LIBÂNEO (2012), AIRES (2009), BRASIL (2006), NETO (2000), tivemos uma maior desenvoltura e embasamento para a realização do trabalho. De modo a mostrar que se faz necessário entender a Gestão Democrática, como forma de gestão necessária nas escolas públicas, e que suas práticas e mecanismos de efetivação precisam ser percebidas pelo corpo escolar como formas de embasamento e subsídios para a tomada de decisões coletivas na escola. Percebe-se que os gestores escolares precisam ser conhecedores dessa amplitude que é a Gestão Democrática, sempre buscando novos conhecimentos, e buscando formações continuadas, para uma melhor atuação dos mesmos.
