Resumo:This paper highlights the importance of the Pedagogical Coordinator within the educational institution, first walking on the historical course of the pedagogical coordination and leading to the knowledge of the legal aspects that underlie its performance. The objective is to identify the inherent attributions of the pedagogical coordinator and to relate the coordinator's practice to the management function. The research had a bibliographic character, thus seeking to conduct a descriptive study around the role of the pedagogical coordinator. Some of the authors used for basement stand out in our research, such as Luck (2002), Venas (2012), Libiliar (2012), Moran (2008), among others. In this way, we can know more fully how broad the role of the pedagogical coordinator is and how much should be performed by a qualified professional. The role of the pedagogical coordinator is complex and we must increasingly be updated on how this work takes place within institutions, as the quality of teaching begins in management.
