Resumo:The objective of this study is to analyze the comics Zé da Jia as pedagogical material of formation for tourism. Its specific objectives are: to investigate the socio-cultural aspects and their influence on comics; to evaluate the pedagogical purposes of comics in the process of tourism education; to articulate the didactic relationship of the comic strip Zé da Jia with the teaching of tourism. The methodology used in this article is characterized as an exploratory-descriptive study of a qualitative nature. It covered the bibliographic and documentary research from a historical panorama on comics and their importance in the process of tourism education. The collection of verbal material was obtained from open questions guided by the technique of Content Analysis of Bardin (2016). The ethical procedures of the interview were conducted according to the guidelines of the Research Ethics Committee (REC) of the UFRN, and its Free and Informed Consent Form (ICF). The research shows that the creation of comics is a complex process where the comic book writer is required to be creative and knowledgeable in order to prepare the stories. It reveals that in general there is a balance between drawing and text acting in the formation of the reader. It is observed that the periodicity is relative to the production flow and depends on sources of funding and partnerships, since it is necessary to create new themes that enable the continuity and scope of this publication in more schools and other institutions. It notes that the distribution is due to the cooperation between the author and the contractor. It attests that the comic can reach more people when it is shared among family members and by other individuals. It concludes that the aim of this study is to make the comic strip Zé da Jia as a didactic tool for education in Potiguar tourism by the didactic contribution in which it describes the characteristics of the landscape, the history and the characters of the cities in a playful language and easy to understand.
