| Resumo: | The present research aims to present evidence of residents of the municipality of São Miguel do Gostoso About the event closed New Year's Eve. The work was conducted as a qualitative study and has been explored through the interview method with some subjects from the research interviews with the session of job interviews and semantic communication with the secretary of tourism and communication of the municipality. In its structure, the work contextualizes historically the New Year's Eve event, to address the challenges and impacts of the event in the community blaming the influence on leisure practice and recreation of the locals. What is perceived as important is the event as important, which is more important for the planning and execution of the event, especially in jobs. The interviews show a decision-making in the decision-making process, but they do not refer to leisure, collective and popular practices in which the event occurs, which bring tourists of high purchasing power to a region and radically changes the dynamics.
