Resumo: | Hospitalization is considered a risk factor for functional decline as it is directly linked to loss of independence and autonomy, added to excessive rest and sleep deprivation. Functionality, according to the International Classification of Functioning (ICF) is defined as the relationship between a person's health status, environmental factors and the personal factors by which they are inserted. Sleep is directly linked to cognitive and immunological functions, interfering with people's quality of life. The main objective of this study is to establish a protocol to assess the functionality and mobility of individuals undergoing hospitalization in the city of Santa Cruz-RN. A cross-sectional observational study protocol will be conducted using questionnaires and scales: Whodas 2.0, Johns Hopkins Highest Level of Mobility Scale (JH-HLM), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (IQSP) and Questionnaire for Munich Chronotype Questionnaire – MCTQ. The study sample will consist of 30 individuals submitted to hospitalization in the medical clinic, for convenience after the study was published in the HRAB. The result of this study will provide a protocol that will present reliability, validity and applicability to assess, monitor and guide the maintenance of functionality levels. Followed by the delivery of exercise booklets and guidelines as a strategy to improve general health and preserve functionality during hospitalization. |
