Resumo:There are several benefits that the Internet and technological advances present, however, they also make room for the massive circulation of information that can be both true and false. Thus, being able to discern this information becomes fundamental in cyberspace. This work presents a study on the fight against fake news, through the development of critical information literacy combined with scientific dissemination and professional librarians. It aims to understand the role of the librarian, critical information literacy and scientific dissemination in the fight against fake news, in order to minimize the circulation of false news and information, in order to minimize the circulation of false news and information. Discusses the role of the librarian in this context. It points out tools and criteria for validating information and its sources. It uses as empirical research sources the academic Google Scholar, the Periódicos Capes Portal, the Base de Dados em Ciência da Informação (BRAPCI), the Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo) and Bardin's content analysis technique to describe and interpret everything the material collected. Two booklets were developed – one for the general public and the other for librarians – as instruments for facilitating scientific dissemination. Therefore, it emphasizes the need to develop materials and ways of working the critical information literacy in individuals, opening a dialogue between science and society, in order to reduce disinformation, inserting the librarian as a mediator and educator to raise awareness and help to develop the individual/citizen, aiming to minimize the impact of fake news on society.
