Resumo:Society started to see beauty no longer as a characteristic, but as an instrument of self-affirmation, contributing to the adoption of greater care with physical appearance. This influenced the evolution of cosmetics used in activities and the generation of new jobs for the population. With the increase in demand, this area has grown considerably in recent years, which occurred mainly due to the inclusion of women in the labor market, as she started to have more financial conditions to attend the place and even manage these establishments. Despite bringing benefits to the economy, aesthetic services performed without control can cause damage to the environment. This work aims to develop an Environmental Management System (SGA) in a salon located in Natal / RN, using the ABNT NBR ISO 14001 and ISO 14004 standards, which guide the steps for its implementation. The methodology used was research applied through on-site visits, interviews with the owner and consultations with bibliographies and legislation. The identification and assessment of environmental aspects and impacts of each activity performed, as well as the adoption of mitigating measures to reduce the degree of these impacts in order to assist in the decision making of the company's managers. According to the results, most of the procedures generate very significant impacts, with emphasis on the reduction of natural resources, water and soil pollution. Although environmental care is reputed to have high costs, the adoption of environmentally friendly measures can contribute to green marketing and attract new customers who adhere to this sustainable ideal.
