Resumo:Assessing the water availability of a region is fundamental to manage the satisfactory form and guarantee Safety of the water of the population, mainly in the semi-arid region of Brazil northeast, which is susceptible to the occurrence of extreme events with recurrent episodes of meteorological droughts. In this work, were studied two reservoirs in the Seridó river basin between the years 1963 to 2017, analyzing the effect of the interannual variability precipitations of water availability. The Soil Moisture Accounting Procedure (SMAP) model was used to simulate the affluent flows and the regularized flows were estimated by water balance, developed in the Fortran programming language. In intention to quantify the impact of the prolonged drought, two canaries were simulated: (i) before the period of prolonged drought, that is, from January / 1963 to December / 2011; and (ii) considering the 6 years of drought, that is, from January / 1963 to December / 2017. And as a way of studying the effect over the years of the temporal variability of water availability, a mobile historical series with a 30-year interval was simulated, recalculated every year. The results identify that regular flow rates also suffer variability over the years. Consequently, the moving average of affluent flows is known to have the potential to assist in a more dynamic and efficient management of water resources.
