| Resumo: | The environmental issue has often been debated as a result of increased environmental degradation and its consequences for the quality of life of the population. All this discussion shows the growing awareness of society, which came to understand that quality of life depends on a balanced environment. In this way, it is fundamental that public administration bodies, including courts of justice, contribute to sustainability actions, including recycling, since they are classified as large generators of solid waste, arising from their various administrative activities, such as such as plastic, cardboard and mainly paper. Thus, with the responsibility of promoting and executing these and other actions on environmental issues, the Permanent Coordination of Environmental Management (COPEGAM) was created at the TJRN. The objective of this work is to verify the environmental and economic viability of the implementation of an Environmental Management System in the Court of Justice of Rio Grande do Norte – TJRN. To this end, a study was carried out of the environmental management process of the Court of Justice, analyzing data on resource expenditures and material consumption, as well as diagnosing the solid waste situation of the Judicial Branch of Rio Grande do Norte and sustainability actions in the same. |
