Resumo:Coastal areas concentrate the majority of the population around the world, and in Brazil is not different. Thus, as a direct consequence, coastal environments suffer with several kinds of anthropic interferences: unplanned urbanization, agriculture and disorderly tourism, among others. An approach to analyze this complex issue and predict its impacts is to use mathematical modeling. The purpose of this paper was to build a model of the trophic web of Rio Pratagi (RN, Brazil) using the Ecopath with Ecosim (EwE) software and, based at current anthropic interferences on the region, the impacts on trophic web have been simulated. Our results show that the trophic web of Pratagi’s river is resilient. However, the simulations of the impact on the base of the food chain (primary producers and detritus) showed that the biotic components could be reduced by 70%, on average, in the next five years. When these simulations were applied to all components of the trophic web, it tended to disappear. In summary, even though it appears to be stable, it seems like the trophic web would not be able to resist to this level of impact over the next five years.
