Despite of this, its physical structure doesn’t present adaptation to the target public and, thus, it is possible to realize some difficulty among its users on enjoying the building. This final work of graduation in architecture and urbanism has had the objective of elaborating a preliminary study to adapt the physical space of the IERC-RN to its users. The work was based on a stuyd of post-occupancy evaluation made locally in order to understand the main difficulties faced by its users and their aspirations. As a tool to promote the necessary improvements, the elaboration of the proposal was based on the sensory architecture, aiming at easying the dayly of people who, not counting on the vision, constantly seek and need for sensory tips to orient themselves and move around. In general terms, besides proposing the physical restructuring of part of the existing building (with demolition of the old building, construction of a new auditorium and a swimming pool, adaptation of the dining hall and installation of a ramp), the most important intervention will be in the comfort and accessibility conditions and humanization of the building, especially with the addition of olfactory, tactile and sound stimuli linked the nature (inclusion of water, birds and vegetation in the space). O Instituto de Educação e Reabilitação dos Cegos do Rio Grande do Norte (IERC-RN) é uma instituição que acolhe e tenta melhorar a vida de pessoas com deficiência visual, tendo se tornado uma referência no Nordeste. Apesar disso, sua estrutura física não apresenta adaptação ao público-alvo e, assim, pode-se perceber algumas dificuldades entre os usuários para desfrutar dos espaços. Esse trabalho final de graduação em arquitetura e urbanismo teve como objetivo elaborar um estudo preliminar para adaptar o espaço físico do IERC-RN aos seus usuários. O trabalho teve como base um estudo de Avaliação Pós-ocupação feito no local a fim de entender as principais dificuldades enfrentadas e as aspirações dos usuários. Como instrumento para promover as melhorias necessárias, a elaboração da proposta apoiou-se na arquitetura sensorial, visando facilitar o dia a dia de pessoas que, não contando com a visão, buscam e precisam constantemente do auxílio outros sentidos para se orientar e se locomover no espaço.
