Resumo:The technological advances throughout the history allowed the architects to explore new solutions to usual problematics in their Design process. It’s Known that the CAD technologies (Computer aided design) had a great influence in the relationship between the architect and the computer. The advances in the software’s development allowed the algorithm thinking to reach architects, letting the creation of a new logic in their virtual models through the relationship among the parameters of a project. The Parametric Design suggest a new way to design a building that is possible only with parametric modeling and computational thinking. This thesis aims to make this subject more tangible to students and professionals by studying the concept of Parametric Design together with the design of a cultural pavilion to the city of Natal, Brazil, highlighting in a practical way the nuances of its design process.
