| Resumo: | Starting from observations on how people experience the city, questioning the use
of public spaces and comparing a few cities in Europe and in the United States of America with
the city of Natal, the present paper brings fundamentally an urban rehabilitation propositon
that aims to improve the use of public spaces and the urban infrastructure towards the
pedestrian acessibility in the neighborhood of Cidade Alta. Acting specifically on the streets
João Pessoa and Rio Branco, its Urban Movability is questioned, as well as the notion of
identity which is conceaved to public spaces. Thes notion allows the creation of the concept
of place, that way giving the proper value to inheritage, in its many forms, in the historic
centres. |
