Estudo preliminar de cemitério vertical para Natal/RN
description The Vertical Cemetery for Natal / RN idea came from the perception of the need to increase the offer of graves in the city. With about 6,000 deaths a year in the last 3 years, the garden cemeteries no longer could hold this high demand. Furthermore, new resolutions from CONAMA (Environment National Council) were approved, which establish new criteria for burial in the country, aiming to combat pollution caused by this type of urban equipment. Although this topic is still poorly explored in Brazil, some examples of this type of construction have already been built. Two projects were chosen as references, one indirect reference (Yarkon Cemetery in Israel) and another direct one (Memorial Fortaleza). In addition, studies were conducted on the controlling technologies of gases produced by the decomposition of the bodies. A new computerized system named No-Leak, created by the Villa Group was chosen for the project. With the analysis of these reference buildings, the resolutions of CONAMA, the contamination control system and legislations pertinent to the subject, it was possible to elaborate a program and pre-dimension the spaces. The chosen site is located in the North Zone of the city, which has dimensions that met the design intentions. The location is accessible to population from all over the city, via fast transit roads and public transportation (bus and train). The project developed aims for a lower visual and environmental impact, in order to meet legal requirements, resulting in a design made for the user’s full comfort. The buildings of the complex are connected as a strategy to create a path, allowing the ritual of the procession to happen through enclosed and open environments, all surrounded by natural elements.

O Cemitério Vertical para Natal/RN, surgiu da percepção da necessidade de aumento na oferta de túmulos na cidade. Com cerca de 6.000 mortes por ano nos últimos 3 anos (IBGE, 2017), os cemitérios jardins já não comportam tanta demanda. Além disso, foram aprovadas resoluções do CONAMA (Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente) que estabelecem novos critérios para o sepultamento no país, visando combater a poluição causada por este tipo de equipamento urbano. Apesar deste tópico ainda ser pouco explorado no Brasil, já foram construídos alguns exemplares deste tipo de edificação. Foram escolhidos dois projetos como referência, uma indireta (Cemitério de Yarkon em Israel) e outra direta (Memorial Fortaleza). Além disso, houve o estudo de tecnologias de controles dos gases produzidos pela decomposição de corpos, sendo escolhido um novo sistema computadorizado criado pela Grupo Villa, o No-Leak. Com a análise destas edificações, das resoluções do CONAMA, do sistema de controle de contaminação e ademais legislações pertinentes ao assunto, foi possível elaborar um programa e pré-dimensionar os ambientes. O terreno escolhido se situa na Zona Norte da cidade, com dimensões que atendiam as intenções projetuais. A localização é acessível para população de toda a cidade, através de vias de transito rápido e transporte público (ônibus e trem). A proposta desenvolvida objetivou um menor impacto visual e ambiental, de forma a atender as exigências legais resultando em um projeto feito para o conforto dos usuários.
