Ninho: estudo preliminar de um centro de tratamento para pessoas com transtorno do espectro autista
description Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects the areas of communication and socialization. The symptoms vary between stereotypies, speech problems, difficulty in social interaction, and hypersensitivity to sounds, lights, textures, flavors, colors, and touches, thus having the autistic individual a different perception of the environment around them. As there is no cure, it is essential that the autistic person undergo treatments to control symptoms and cognitive, motor, and social development; this treatment being multidisciplinary and guaranteed by Law No. 12,764, of December 27, 2015. Within the scope of services for people with autism, there are reports of institutions that care for more patients than their capacity allows, and have a waiting list, thus confirming the existence of great demand for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) treatment services. Added to this is the fact that several spaces are not suitable for persons with ASD, be it for dimensioning, accessibility (going against the Brazilian Law on the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities), acoustic comfort or other infrastructural problems. Therefore, with the premise of absorbing knowledge on a subject not addressed during the author’s undergraduate course, the object of study is the influence of the autistic sensory characteristics on the architectural project, aiming to elaborate the design of a treatment center for people with ASD, considering the perception of these users. To achieve the expected result, a wide bibliographic review was conducted in books, articles, monographs, videos, and magazines. In addition, semi-structured interviews and questionnaires were done remotely with mothers of autistic people and with professionals who serve this group to understand the spatial and treatment needs of people with ASD. For the development of the preliminary study, it was necessary to carry out bibliographic and documentary research and reference studies that guided and inspired the design process. Therefore, it is sought, through the preliminary study of the treatment center for the autistic, to contribute to the discussion about inclusive spaces for the group, giving visibility to the theme. As a result, there is a proposal for a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space, aiming to promote comfort and well-being for autistic patients, as well as for family members and staff. The project is in the municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante/RN, on the border with the Northern Administrative Region of Natal/RN, and presents bucolic characteristics, referring to farms, full of vegetation.

O autismo é um transtorno do neurodesenvolvimento que afeta as áreas de comunicação e socialização. Os sintomas variam entre estereotipias, problemas na fala, dificuldade de interação social e hipersensibilidade a sons, luzes, texturas, sabores, cores e toques, tendo, assim, o indivíduo autista, uma percepção diferenciada do ambiente ao seu redor. Por não ter cura, é essencial que o autista realize tratamentos para controle dos sintomas e desenvolvimento cognitivo, motor e social; tratamento esse sendo multiprofissional e garantido pela Lei nº 12.764, de 27 de dezembro de 2015. No âmbito dos espaços de atendimento a pessoas com autismo, há relatos de instituições que atendem mais pacientes do que sua capacidade e, ainda, apresentam lista de espera, confirmando, assim, a existência de uma grande demanda para serviços de tratamento do Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA). Acrescenta-se a isso o fato de diversos espaços não serem adequados a indivíduos com TEA, seja por dimensionamento, acessibilidade (indo contra a Lei Brasileira de Inclusão), conforto acústico ou outros problemas de infraestrutura. Assim sendo, com a premissa de absorver conhecimentos sobre um assunto não abordado durante o curso de graduação da autora, tem-se como objeto de estudo a influência das características sensoriais dos autistas no projeto arquitetônico, objetivando-se, de modo geral, elaborar o projeto de um centro de tratamento para pessoas com TEA, levando em consideração a percepção desses usuários. Para alcançar o resultado esperado, foi realizada uma ampla revisão bibliográfica em livros, artigos, monografias, vídeos e revistas. Foram feitas, também, entrevistas semiestruturadas e aplicação de questionários, de forma remota, com mães de autistas e com profissionais que atendem esse grupo, a fim de entender as necessidades espaciais e de tratamento de pessoas com TEA. Para o desenvolvimento do estudo preliminar, fez necessária a realização de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental e de estudos de referência que guiaram e inspiraram o processo projetual. Busca-se, portanto, por meio do estudo preliminar do centro de tratamento para autistas, contribuir para discussão acerca de espaços inclusivos para aquele grupo, dando visibilidade ao tema. Como resultado, tem-se a proposta de um espaço acolhedor, acessível e inclusivo, objetivando a promoção de conforto e bem-estar para os pacientes autistas, bem como para familiares e funcionários.
