Resumo: | This research is the result of a State of the Art study on the History of Mathematics. The
choice of subject was given as a PIBID (Institutional Scholarship Initiative Project) and
also during the supervised stages of mathematics III and IV, which helped me to realize
that all knowledge, especially the mathematical, Is the result of a historical construction.
Therefore, it is essential to use the History of Mathematics as a teaching method so that
the student can understand mathematics in a way different from what has been taught
for years. The research was elaborated from a bibliographical analysis, that is, from a
mapping of researches allusive to the History of Mathematics, defended in the Graduate
Courses of UFRN - Campus de Natal. Thus, a cut was made regarding the delimitation
of the year of defense in these surveys, between the years of 2009 to 2016. A second cut
was made referring only to the analysis of four master's dissertations. After this stage,
the readings and analyzes of each of the essays were performed, and then some
categories were created for a better understanding of them, such as: teaching levels,
content covered, problems and general objectives. The results obtained in each of the
researches show that it is possible to work the History of Mathematics as a teaching
method, enabling the development of teaching/learning with better understanding on the
part of the students. |
