Among the works of Lamartine, we use in analysis: Hunting in the backlands of Seridó (2014); A. B. C. of the dams fishery in Seridó (1961); Rio Grande do Norte rivers (1984); The reservoirs of Seridó (1978); Sertões do Seridó (1980); In alpendres d'Acauã (2001); Some bees from the sertões do Seridó (2004). With regard to Bezerra, we analyzed collections of letters published in book format between the years 2000 and 2013. These works stand out because they present information referring to the daily life and political, social and economic aspects of the sertanejos. They work with memories of the most varied, many of them being "borrowed", that is, from other individuals. In the context of this analysis, we try to emphasize the knowledge that defines a certain idea about the Sertão Potiguar highlighting, at the beginning, elements of its narrative that relate to describing the sertanejo past that bases such identity in Rio Grande do Norte. Following, in this first moment, we will emphasize what Lamartine and Bezerra understand by memory and we will also deal with the transformations of this one. To understand this concept, we will dialogue with Paul Ricoeur's work, namely, Memory, History, and Oblivion (2007). In the second moment, we will try to identify how history is worked out in the writings of the memorialists. And, in the last breath, we will confront historians and memorialists and their conceptions of tradition. For a better understanding of this concept, we will use the knowledge of Eric Hobsbawn having as base book The Invention of Traditions (2012). Finally, we will advance in the reading of the relations between the narratives of memory and the narrative form chosen by the memorialist.

PPG/PROPESQ O presente estudo dedica-se a análise de trabalhos que remetem ao Sertão do Seridó, escritas por dois memorialistas: Oswaldo Lamartine (1919-2007) e Paulo Bezerra (1933-2017). Entre os trabalhos de Lamartine, utilizamos em analise: A caça nos sertões do Seridó (2014); A. B. C. da pescaria de açudes no Seridó (1961); Ferro de ribeiras do Rio Grande do Norte (1984); Os açudes dos sertões do Seridó (1978); Sertões do Seridó (1980); Em alpendres d‟Acauã (2001); Algumas abelhas dos sertões do Seridó (2004). No que diz respeito a Bezerra, analisamos coletâneas de cartas publicadas em formato de livro entre os anos 2000 e 2013. Destacam-se estas obras por apresentarem informações referentes ao cotidiano e aspectos políticos, sociais e econômicos dos sertanejos. Trabalham com memórias das mais variadas, sendo muitas delas “emprestadas”, ou seja, de outros indivíduos. No âmbito desta análise, procura-se enfatizar o conhecimento que define certa ideia acerca do Sertão Potiguar destacando, de início, elementos de sua narrativa que dizem respeito ao descrever o passado sertanejo que fundamenta tal identidade no Rio Grande do Norte. Seguindo, neste primeiro momento, destacaremos o que Lamartine e Bezerra entendem por memória e trataremos também das transformações desta. Para compreender tal conceito iremos dialogar com a obra de Paul Ricoeur, qual seja, A memória, a história, o esquecimento (2007). No segundo momento, procuraremos identificar como a História é trabalhada nos escritos dos memorialistas. E, no último suspiro, colocaremos em embate os historiadores e os memorialistas e suas concepções sobre tradição. Para um melhor entendimento deste conceito, utilizaremos o conhecimento de Eric Hobsbawn tendo como livro base A Invenção das Tradições (2012).
