The construction work started from the development of a database with articles about beauty and beauty contests, facilitating the identification of the document through the descriptive elements. As for the methodology, started with the contact with the existing literature about archival science and history of Beauty, definition of temporal analysis, articles and news about beauty contests published in newspapers and inclusion of documents in the database in Microsoft Access format. The cataloging of newspapers published in Caicó-RN, in the period from 1916 to 1927, to work as an instrument of research and access to documents, allows investigations related to beauty, beauty pageants and beautiful issues published in the press in early 20th century, opening the possibility of writing a history of beauty in the Seridó. Esta pesquisa apresenta um repertório de fontes jornalísticas sobre a beleza encartadas nos periódicos “O Binóculo” e “Jornal das Moças”, que integram o Fundo Joaquim Martiniano Neto (Madureira), custodiado pelo Laboratório de Documentação Histórica (LABORDOC) da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), Centro de Ensino Superior do Seridó (CERES), Campus de Caicó. A construção do trabalho partiu da elaboração de um banco de dados com artigos sobre beleza e concursos de beleza, facilitando a identificação do documento através de elementos descritivos. Quanto à metodologia, principiou com o contato com a bibliografia existente sobre Arquivística e História da Beleza, definição do recorte temporal, análise de artigos e notícias sobre concursos de beleza publicados nos jornais e inclusão dos documentos no banco de dados, no formato Microsoft Access.
