Resumo:The present work aims the study of the crosses that delimit death in Jardim do Seridó, these are on BR-427. We are going to analyze each object that is with the crosses and how the last ones are put on the roads, where they are found and what changed in the urban scenery after they were put there. We are going to start this monograph talking about the man and his behaviors face to death, trying to understand, in a diachronic way, the attitudes of man facing death. We are going to analyze this subject based on studies about man and death, aiming the occidental perspective at first, to then understand the seridoense man. Afterwards, we are going to talk about the representation of death, and its rituals, to the habitants of Jardim do Seridó, considering their history, tradition, culture, memory and burial rituals. At last, we are going to address the road crosses, place of memory and history of who has died, as well as we are going to make an approach around the physical aspect of the city and its population, beliefs, religion and culture.
