Resumo:This document is a work of conclusion of course that intends to make an analysis about the process of experiencing the internship at Hospital Doctor João Machado, bringing with it the historical trajectory of mental health in Brazil and consequently the insertion of social service in this scope, in addition to briefly considering the history of the HJM. In addition, it seeks to inquire about the theme of the right to the city, thus making a link between mental health and the right to the city, in order to address issues invisible to society - such as the stigma with which people suffering from mental disorders have that daily deal and the right that historically was relegated to the population that belongs to the working class; as well as highlighting the inequality that is revealed in this process. All this work comes from looking at a psychiatric hospital that, like the state, ends up excluding the oppressed and outsourcing the promotion of care. The objectives are thus defined: analyze the historical determinants of the right to the city and the implications of social inequality from the users of the Hospital; identify and analyze the origin, sex-gender of the users analyzing the relationship of this with the geographic spaces in which they are inserted and to verify the relation of the support to the users with the conditions put in the quotidian. When contemplating the analysis of the subject, a satisfactory result was reached - a study based on the State's mental health policy, based on HJM users, which made it possible to understand the implications of the social inequalities revealed in the daily life of the city. Considering the search for an analysis from the perspective of totality, the critical-dialectical method was used to carry out such a study. In addition, we also seek to contribute to further research involving the main categories of study - supervised internship, city law, urban policy, social inequality, mental health policy, psychiatric reform - always seeking the relationship between social and such categories.
