This undergraduate thesis aims to study the social workers’ performance at the Public Ministry. To do so, the analysis are centered on the political and economic determinants that surrounds the Social Work’s actions at the 26th District Attorney’s Office, region of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. From this point, we developed a historical contextualization, portraying the Bourgeois State up to the foundation of Brazil’s Judicial System, particularly the creation of the Public Ministry. Then, we learnt through bibliographical research based on books, dissertations, thesis and articles, the mediations that crosses the social workers’ job at a ministerial institution. In order to collect the data, we conducted a qualitative and quantitative research based on documental reviews, looking forward to identify the main demands, challenges and possibilities of working at the 26th District Attorney’s Office. To achieve this goal, we chose a time gap of one year, from January to December of 2018. The analysis from demands that are sent to Social Work allows to verify that the DA’s Office has only two social workers to answer all of those demands at Natal, in 2018 a total of 397 procedures was received and among it, 319 were about the violations of rights of elderly people, and the rest of the procedures were about the violations of rights of people with disabilities. However, not all of demands were solved, actually only 259 were answered. Thus, finishing this debate, we reaffirm that the process of productive restructuring from the capitalism affects the job market for social workers, causing the lost of workspaces and, thereafter, enhancing the precariousness and exploitation in this working area. We are talking about a work situation that produces a double and contradictory process, because while the Social Work has to answer demands related to the effectiveness of social rights, they also find it hard to achieve that, considering that the there’s only a few workers to cover a lot of work. In other words, they live a tension between the defense of the social rights and the precariousness behind the act of answering social needs, that clearly implicates on the degradation and exploitation of social workers. In that sense, it is urgent that Social Work surpass a limited vision about reality, reading critically this process and searching alternatives to improve the Employment bond, seeking to reach their relative autonomy and fighting for new work stations. |

O presente Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso objetivou estudar o trabalho do/a assistente social no Ministério Público. Para tanto, o objeto de estudo centrou-se em analisar os determinantes políticos e econômicos que perpassam a atuação do Serviço Social na 26ª Promotoria da comarca do Natal, no Rio Grande do Norte. Partindo desse objeto foi realizada uma contextualização histórica, retratando o Estado de Direito Burguês até a formação do Sistema Judiciário no Brasil, particularidade do Ministério Público. Em seguida, apreendemos, através de pesquisa bibliográfica, em livros, dissertações, teses e artigos científicos, as mediações que perpassam o fazer profissional do/a assistente social na instituição ministerial. Para a coleta de dados, realizou-se uma pesquisa de caráter quali-quantitativo, por meio de análise documental, com o intuito de identificar as principais demandas, desafios e possibilidades na atuação do Serviço Social na 26ª promotoria; para isto, foi utilizado um recorte do período de um ano, de janeiro a dezembro de 2018. A análise das demandas encaminhadas para o Serviço Social permitiu constatar que a promotoria conta com apenas dois assistentes sociais para atender toda a demanda do município do Natal, que totalizou no ano de 2018, 397 procedimentos recebidos, dentre estes, 319 tratava-se de demandas de violações de direitos de Pessoas Idosas e os demais eram de Pessoas com Deficiência. Porém, das demandas recebidas, apenas 259 foram atendidas. Assim, concluímos e ratificamos o quanto que a reestruturação produtiva do capital atinge o mercado de trabalho do/a assistente social, incidindo no movimento de redução de postos de trabalho e, consequentemente, na precarização e exploração destes. Tratando-se então de uma condição de trabalho que produz um duplo processo contraditório, em que, de um lado, devem atuar respondendo às demandas de efetivação de direitos sociais; e, ao mesmo tempo, encontram insuficiência de profissionais, frente às demandas e às proposições de trabalho, tardando, ainda mais, a concretização desses. Ou seja, vive-se uma tensão entre a defesa dos direitos sociais e a precarização do atendimento às necessidades sociais, com claras implicações nas condições na degradação e exploração do trabalho do/a assistente social.
