This research aimed to delineate the therapeutic itinerary of these patients with sickle cell disease in the SUS Network of the State of Rio Grande in the North, aiming to find their main difficulties regarding the care and the lack of knowledge about the disease by health professionals. For this, we used the focus group method with six people who participated in the Association of People with Sickle Cell Anemia in Rio Grande do Norte. For the analysis of the results, we used the content analysis technique, resulting in three thematic categories: Diagnosis and living with sickle cell disease; Invisibility of the disease by the Health Care Network; Absence of a caution line; and Appreciation of the social movement. It was observed that there is no line of care for patients in the state, making health care less than guaranteed by law. These results prove that the State SUS Network should promote improvements to the access of this population aiming at a better quality of life. A doença falciforme faz parte do grupo de hemoglobinopatias e é considerada a doença hereditária mais comum no Brasil. Sua incidência na população brasileira não ocorre apenas na população de origem, a negra, mas em todas as raças do país devido à miscigenação. Essa pesquisa buscou delinear o itinerário terapêutico destes pacientes com doença falciforme na Rede SUS do Estado do Rio Grande no Norte, visando encontrar suas principais dificuldades com relação ao atendimento e ao desconhecimento acerca da doença pelos profissionais de saúde. Para tanto, foi utilizado o método do grupo focal com seis pessoas que participavam da Associação de Pessoas Portadoras de Anemia Falciforme do Rio Grande do Norte. Para a análise dos resultados, utilizou-se a técnica da análise de conteúdo, resultando em três categorias temáticas: Diagnóstico e convívio com a doença falciforme; Invisibilidade da doença pela Rede de Atenção à Saúde; Ausência de uma linha de cuidado; e Valorização do movimento social. Observou-se que não existe uma linha de cuidado para os pacientes no Estado, tornando a assistência à saúde inferior ao garantido por Lei.
