Resumo:Access to health care is a constitutional right of the citizen and a duty of the Government, eventually it is possible to perceive flaws or areas not covered or, still, unmet demands. Sometimes there is a need for judicial intervention to guarantee this right. The data that support the research were collected at UNICAT from internal reports and inventory control processes in the years 2017 and 2018. The results obtained, after specific treatment, showed volumes and financial values compatible with the Government budget for the acquisition and distribution of medicines and medical / hospital supplies. Still, by sampling it was found compatible with the demands received and judged by the Judiciary of Rio Grande do Norte. However, it was observed that there is a considerable volume of drugs already contemplated by other specific agencies and programs that there was no need for these judicial interventions. It is concluded that the pharmacist is also necessary in the judicial spheres for better use of public resources and better meeting the individual needs of patients.
