| Resumo: | Obesity is a chronic and serious disease that produces an imbalance in the body, this disease involves several factors: emotional, genetic, environmental, which requires a change in the lifestyle of those affected. Treatment for the disease is based on changes in eating habits or physical activity, but in some cases surgical or medication intervention is required. In Brazil, the substance sibutramine is marketed for this purpose, as it is a psychotropic, its dispensation is regulated by Ordinance No. 344/1998, in which a medical prescription is required with notification of prescription B2 and an obligation term signed by the prescriber and patient, clarifying the risks inherent to treatment. The aim of the present study was to identify the profile of sibutramine users in a pharmacy in the city of Natal / RN. A descriptive, documentary, quantitative research was carried out, in which 307 sibutramine prescriptions were analyzed in the period from 2018 to 2019, where the prevalence of users is women aged between 30 and 39 years, who present obesity as a base disease, having a greater number of prescriptions with the substance sibutramine, which corresponds to the generic drug, but with a greater number of Biomag dispensations, which is the reference drug. It is recommended that other studies with this same objective be carried out in other regions of the city, and who knows, perhaps, analyzing a longer time interval. |
