Resumo:Objective: To investigate the methods used to perform the routine Stool Parasitological Examination (EPF) in the Clinical Analysis Laboratories of the Municipal, State and Federal located network in the city of Natal / RN. Methods: Qualitative and quantitative descriptive research, conducted from the application of a questionnaire with 12 pharmacists and /or biomedical responsible for the laboratories. Results: Of the municipal network laboratories, 50% perform Hoffman, Pons and Janer and 50% Hoffman, Pons and Janer and Baermann - Moraes. In the state network, 100% perform Hoffman, Pons and Janer. And in the Federal network, 50% perform Hoffman, Pons and Janer and 50% perform Hoffman, Pons and Janer, Baermann - Moraes and Faust. Conclusion: The method of Hoffmann, Pons and Janer was shown to be the most used in public laboratories, due to the choice to occur by public tenders, despite the importance of at least two techniques in the routine.
