| Resumo: | This work contemplates aspects related to the administrative and clinical function of the pharmacist, having as objective the analysis of its performance, where, on the one hand, it is necessary to keep the hospital pharmacy service in full operation through devices such as endless exchanges and on the other, the underutilization of its clinical attributions, by making the practice of pharmaceutical care unviable in its entirety, resulting in greater harm to patient safety. This is a narrative literary review study conducted in two databases (Scielo and Google Scholar) conducted through the keywords: “Public Health”, “Pharmaceutical Assistance” and “Hospital Pharmacy” and selected through critical analysis. of the contents focused on technical issues and policies related to pharmaceutical care. It is concluded, therefore, that it is of fundamental importance that the mission of the professional is well defined so that he can make the best decision in the face of the difficulties intrinsic to the current public health panorama and that he can seek and adapt his work within the philosophy established by the professional. Unified Health System always focusing its actions on the figure of patient care. |
