Resumo:Currently, most organizations carry out some type of project, be it internal or external. This makes companies see more and more the importance of improving the area in order to achieve the best result from the projects executed, and one of the most sought ways today to achieve this is the implementation of the Project Office. Within these various organizations are the Junior Companies (EJs), which each year stand out more in the market, and considerably increase the number of projects carried out. In view of this, the present work addressed the reality of the EJs, aiming to investigate the critical success factors that influence the project offices of junior companies. To achieve the objective, a case study was carried out in three junior companies, due to the fact that the research is an analysis of the environment of junior companies, it was considered as a descriptive research, and for having the environment itself as a source of data, it was used a qualitative research. As the study is limited to three companies, it is considered a case study. The sample will consist of 4 managers who participate or participated in one of the 3 selected EJs, chosen by the author, which makes it an intentional non-probabilistic sample. For data collection, semi-structured interviews were carried out with members and ex-members of the EJs, with the questions of the script divided among the strategic, tactical and operational levels. The data analysis used was content analysis, after which critical success factors were defined that most influence the PMO of junior companies: Strong Leadership and Experience (Maturity) of the PMO; Provide Training, Support, Coaching; Knowledge management; Appropriate definition (structuring).
