Resumo:Since the beginning of 2020, the world has been suffering from the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus. Companies quickly had to adapt to this context, and retailing was no different. This paper aims to describe the role of the project office during the Digital Transformation process and the role of Project management as facilitators of the actions that had to be undertaken by companies in this time of change. The research was carried out in a supermarket in the Northeast of Brazil, and mainly considered the context of the acceleration of the company's digitalization due to COVID-19. As a methodological procedure, a specific questionnaire was applied to each of the areas: Marketing, Information Technology, Human Resources and Project Office. The research is descriptive, and the approach is of a qualitative nature. With the result, it was verified that the Project Office was fundamental to follow up all the Digital Transformation actions within the organization, mainly through the coordination of the teams so that the corporate objectives are achieved.
