Resumo:Chronic Non-communicable Diseases (CNCD) have been at the forefront of national and global public health problems due to the early onset and its increased prevalence in childhood, suggesting the need to plan innovative strategies to prepare the country to deal with this reality, where school gains prominence among the spaces destined to foment actions of promotion of healthy eating and lifestyle habits. Therefore, this paper aims to report on the experiences of the collective elaboration process of the Strategic Plan to Combat the CNCD in Schoolchildren from Santa Cruz-RN through strategic health planning, given that the municipality presents indicators that do not differ from the national reality. It is a qualitative and cross-sectional study that conducted focus groups with the elementary school community for the discussion on the schoolchildren’s health diagnoses and elaboration of strategic maps for the continuity of the educational actions of feeding and nutrition in the school. The participants were able to suggest and structure playful and intersectoral educational proposals for the elaboration of the Plan based on the situational diagnosis through the methodology adopted that allowed the participants themselves to identify the factors that facilitate and impede the accomplishment of the educational actions of food and nutrition in schools and collaborated to the interest of those involved in including the healthy eating topics in pedagogical decisions. The report of this experience provides useful information to other localities that aims to develop similar proposals.
