As a result, João Câmara Municipality becomes a territorial base for the speculation and selectivity of the national and international wind sector, with a significant amount of wind farms and extensive transmission lines that convert the landscape and sociocultural dynamics of several rural communities to the detriment of the wind power generation process. Thus, the objective of this work is based on analyzing how wind energy is established in Rio Grande do Norte and mainly emphasize the social and economic repartimentos derived from this economic activity in the municipality of João Câmara. From the reading of works and documents referring to wind energy and the uses of the territory such as Santos (2013), Traldi (2014), Santos; Silveira (2006), Raffestin (1993) and other works have provided an understanding of the wind activity in the territory and will constitute the theoretical reference of the research. We also carried out queries to obtain secondary data on the wind sector at different scales, highlighting data from GWEC, ANEEL, CERNE and IRENA. These data are represented in tables, graphs and maps. As a way of understanding the studied reality, two field surveys were carried out, one in the municipal seat of João Câmara and the other in the community of Queimadas located in the rural perimeter of the analyzed municipality. Through the assumptions emphasized and formulated in this research, it is notorious to highlight the role of energy in the changes of the productive and territorial bases in the four scales of analysis (world, national, state and municipal). Finally, it was verified that the wind energy in the studied area, João Câmara, does not promote significant changes in the social and economic contexts of the municipality, but rather the accomplishment of isolated actions that compensatory character due to the numerous damages caused, especially regarding the rural communities affected by the wind growth in the municipal territory.

Entre os inúmeros usos do território no Rio Grande do Norte, a geração de energia eólica exerce uma notoriedade no recente período, com expressiva expansão e incorporação de relações e materialidades peculiares frente a dinâmica local já existente. Frente a isso, o município João Câmara torna-se base territorial para a especulação e seletividade do setor eólico nacional e internacional, com expressiva quantidade de parques eólicos e extensas linhas de transmissão que converte a paisagem e a dinâmica sociocultural de várias comunidades rurais em detrimento da efetivação do processo de geração de energia eólica. Desse modo, o objetivo deste trabalho fundamenta-se em analisar como a energia eólica se estabelece no Rio Grande do Norte e principalmente enfatizar os repartimentos sociais e econômicos oriundos dessa atividade econômica no município de João Câmara. A partir da leitura de obras e documentos referentes a energia eólica e os usos do território como Santos (2013), Traldi (2014), Santos; Silveira (2006), Raffestin (1993) entre outras obras possibilitaram uma compreensão da atividade eólica no território e constituirão o referencial teórico da pesquisa. Também foram realizadas consultas para a obtenção de dados secundários sobre o setor eólico em diferentes escalas, destacando os dados do GWEC, ANEEL, CERNE, IRENA, sendo esses dados representados em tabelas, gráficos e mapas. Como forma de compreender a realidade estudada foram executadas duas pesquisas de campo, uma na sede municipal de João Câmara e outra na Comunidade de Queimadas localizada no perímetro rural do município analisado. Mediante as premissas enfatizadas e formuladas nessa pesquisa é notório destacar o papel da energia nas mudanças das bases produtivas e territoriais nas quatro escalas de análise (mundial, nacional, estadual e municipal).
