| Resumo: | The spatio-temporal variation of precipitation is the most important variable, when we intend to understand the dynamics of the landscape structure, being responsible for the triggering of the processes of improvement and formation of sedimentary deposits. The present study aims to study the spatial-temporal variation of rainfall in the Potengi river basin (BHRP), showing the consequences in urban and rural landscapes. In order to reach the objectives, the methodology includes the use of statistical tools of data spatialization and the use of the Gumbel method to calculate the maximum rainfall return times in the basin. The results demonstrate that there is a significant space-time variation of the precipitation of the different compartments of the basin. Regarding the maximum events, it was possible to verify that in the 10-year return interval, all three municipalities present values of precipitation above 100mm in 24h. It can be concluded that precipitation climatological phenomena with high magnitude and low recurrence are frequent in a time scale of decades, being these, linked to the regional climatic dynamics and to the conditioning factors of global control. |
