Resumo:The development of public tourism policies along the coast of the state of Rio Grande do Norte provided the attraction of private tourist investments from abroad. This phenomenon triggered a dynamization of the coastal zone of all the municipalities belonging to the Costa das Dunas Pole. At that moment the real estate market finds in tourism a way to expand and enhance its products. What is observed is the increasing dynamism of the real estate market, with the construction of new typologies that combine stay with leisure. And thus are created complexes of second homes with patterns destined to external demand, mainly the European. The objective of this work is to analyze the correlation between the expansion of tourism and the dynamization of the real estate market in Extremoz. The focus of the research is precisely the dynamics glimpsed about tourism activities related to the economic and speculative nature of the real estate sector, and the empirical basis is the municipality of Extremoz/RN. With regard to methodological procedures, the main source of data was the municipal registry. Extremoz presents itself as one of the most dynamic tourist territories of the pole, and next to the tourist product of Natal is inserted in the globalized market through the tourist activity and the real estate sector. The real estate 'boom' observed in the previous decade boosts the local market making the municipality more competitive from the tourist point of view.
