| Resumo: | The beach environment is extremely susceptible to the action of exogenous agents capable of causing deposition or sediment erosion processes. Beach erosion is a natural process that changes the shape of the beach, which can generate problems for the management of the conservation unit when its dynamics are not known. In this sense, through the research carried out, there was the monitoring of the geomorphological behavior of the island of Farol located at the Atol das Rocas, Rio Grande do Norte. Considering the lack of studies and data related to this subject in the Atol, this monograph had as its central objective to characterize and understand the morphodynamics of the beaches of Farol Island, that is, to understand how the morphological transformations of the beaches occur according to the climatic conditions and In order to reach this objective, we have adopted technical procedures based on a theoretical framework on the subject, involving hydrodynamic, climatic, topographic, etc. parameters. Consequently we believe that this study will support not only the management of the conservation unit in decision making but also supporting researchers working on the theme of correlated coastal or thematic processes. |
