Resumo:This paper deals with analyzing dialogue "Phaedrus", Plato, on its main theme is the rhetoric. In turn, exposes concepts, persuasive vision, the use of feelings as a listener of seduction mechanism, the search for truth through the dialectic and the legal technique of hermeneutics. Thus showing that the rhetoric does not have the ultimate end only weave beautiful words in public, but their peculiarities, ranging from good words, their communicative role and fundamental tool in society is current or in ancient Greece. Based on this reasoning, presents initially a historical insight into the way of rhetoric, quoting Greek philosophers and their views on this subject; subsequently, the best building of good understanding and conviction of the listener, passing by "eristic" to the dialectic, and rhetoric needs as a legal technique for better exposure in the defense and construction of the right.
